About Bead & Babble
Are all your pieces handmade?
Yes! Every Bead & Babble piece is handcrafted by hand, bead by bead. Because of this, you may notice tiny variations between pieces — we think that's part of what makes handmade jewellery special.
Will my piece look exactly like the photos?
We do our best to photograph our pieces as accurately as possible. As each piece is handmade, there may be very slight variations in bead placement, shape or finishing. Colours may also appear slightly different depending on your screen settings.
Materials
What materials do you use?
Depending on the design, our pieces may feature 14K gold-filled components, sterling silver components, Swarovski® crystals and pearls, Japanese glass beads and other carefully selected beads and findings.
What is 14K gold-filled?
Gold-filled jewellery has a substantially thicker layer of real gold bonded to a base metal than standard gold plating. With proper care, it is designed to be more durable and longer-lasting than typical gold-plated jewellery.
Are your earrings suitable for sensitive ears?
All of our designs use 14K gold-filled or sterling silver ear components, which may be more comfortable for many people with sensitive ears. However, do note that sensitivities vary from person to person.
Caring for your jewellery
How should I care for my Bead & Babble pieces?
A little care goes a long way. Keep your pieces away from water, perfume, lotions and harsh chemicals whenever possible. After wearing, gently wipe the metal components with a soft, dry cloth and store your jewellery somewhere cool and dry.
Can I shower or swim with my earrings?
We recommend removing your jewellery before showering, swimming or exercising. This helps keep both the beads and metal components looking their best for longer.
Orders
Are your pieces ready stock or made to order?
This varies from design to design. Some pieces are available as ready stock, while others may be made in small batches. If a piece requires additional preparation time, we'll let you know on the product page.
Can I change or cancel my order?
If you've made a mistake or changed your mind, contact us as soon as possible and we'll do our best to help. Once your order has been packed or shipped, however, we may not be able to make changes.
Will sold-out designs be restocked?
Sometimes! As our pieces are handmade in small quantities, certain designs may take a little time to return, while others may be limited editions. If you've fallen in love with something that's sold out, feel free to reach out to us.
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
For hygiene reasons, we generally cannot accept returns or exchanges for earrings due to change of mind. If there's an issue with your order, though, please get in touch. We want you to be happy with your Bead & Babble piece and will always do our best to help.
Do you accept custom orders?
We may be able to accommodate simple customisations such as colour variations, depending on the design and availability of materials. Send us a message with what you have in mind and we'll let you know what's possible.
Shipping & Delivery
When will I get my order?
We will work quickly to ship your order as soon as possible. Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with further information. Delivery times vary depending on your location.
Returns & Problems
What if my order arrives damaged?
Oh no! Please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and clear photos of the item and packaging. We'll review what happened and work with you to make things right.
What if I receive the wrong item?
Please send us a message with your order number and a photo of what you received. We'll arrange to get the correct piece to you as soon as we can.
Gifting
Can I send an order directly to someone as a gift?
Yes. Simply enter the recipient's delivery details when placing your order.
Can I include a gift message?
Yes! Leave your message and we'll include it with your order.
